Automation
There’s always a buzz of excitement when long-awaited features and brand-new capabilities land in SAP Build Process Automation (SBPA) - and this time, we’ve got four updates worth celebrating. Two are brand-new apps focused on giving end users more control, and two are long-missed features making a much-needed comeback.
My Processes & My Requests: A Fresh, User-Centric View
Let’s start with the big newcomers: My Processes and My Requests. These apps are designed with business users in mind and bring a fresh layer of visibility to ongoing workflows.
My Processes offers a personal view for participants involved in various workflows - like approvers. No more guessing what needs your input or where things stand; this app gives you a clean, up-to-date list of the workflows you’re part of.

My Requests is built for initiators. It tracks all the processes you’ve started - showing which ones are in progress, completed, or need attention. It's a great way to keep tabs on your submissions without constantly checking with others.
Why business users will love these apps:
More transparency: See exactly where your requests or tasks are without chasing updates.
Self-service visibility: No need to ask IT or admins for process statuses - it’s all in your hands.
Faster follow-ups: Spot bottlenecks or delays early and take action to move things forward.
Simplified daily work: One place to track everything - no digging through multiple tools or emails.
Important to note:
These apps are available only in the Shared environment, not Public.
They only show instances deployed in that environment.
That means no access to historical data from other environments - these apps are all about what’s currently active.
Still, they’re a fantastic step forward in making SBPA more transparent and empowering for everyday users.
Manage Decisions: Business Rules Are Back - and Better!
Now, let’s talk about something we’ve been missing for a while. In the old Workflow Management world, Business Rules was a simple tile in the Launchpad. But when SAP Build Process Automation launched, managing decision tables suddenly got more complex - tucked inside project spaces and requiring developer involvement just to make updates.

That’s now changed with the return of Manage Decisions - and it’s back in a better way. Accessible directly from the Build Work Zone, this app lets business users update decision tables on their own and deploy changes immediately - no transport, no project rebuilds, no developers needed. It brings back the simplicity and flexibility we’ve been waiting for.
Monitor Workflow Instances: Now Easier to Access
While not the flashiest of the updates, this one adds real convenience. Monitor Workflow Instances used to live solely in the Monitoring section of SBPA - which required higher roles, often leading to higher license costs and limiting who could use it.
Now it’s available as a tile in the Build Work Zone, just like in the old days of Workflow Management. It makes it much easier for users to view workflow statuses and keep track of ongoing processes, without needing special access or permissions.

Final Thoughts
With the arrival of My Processes and My Requests, and the return of Manage Decisions and Monitor Workflow Instances, SAP Build Process Automation is making clear progress in becoming more accessible, business-friendly, and efficient.
We’re genuinely excited about these changes - and they’re already making daily work smoother for both developers and business users. Can’t wait to see what comes next!
